About

I am a dual-specialist consultant having completed training in both Rheumatology and General Medicine. Following completion of my training and education at both Cambridge and The Royal College of Physicians in London, I now work as a Consultant Rheumatologist and Physician at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, where I am also the Director of Research and Development.

I am the lead clinician for the award winning early arthritis and metabolic bone health services. I have led service transformation program for the unit with the provision of state of the art multipurpose database with over 10000 patients recruited. I was elected to the highly competitive national clinical entrepreneur program in 2021. I am the chair of BLMK ICS area prescribing committee (APC). I am chairing the clinical guidelines group for rheumatic disease associated interstitial lung diseases at the British Society of Rheumatology. I am also a member of various rheumatology research panels and advisory boards worldwide.

In addition to my clinical work and research, I have led multi-professional education program with over 50 lectures every year to peers and colleagues nationally. I act as mentor for professionals’ postgraduate training including extended scope physiotherapists, general practitioners and specialist nurses.

I live in Bedford with my wife and three daughters and during my spare time I like to volunteer with local charities, providing career guidance to local youth groups and health education to the public. I love travelling, learning about different cultures and am also a keen quizzer – indeed I have won several medical quiz shows over the years.
